You can get quotes from a fireplace shop and many experienced chimney sweeps offer inserts. A masonry fireplace like yours will not be hard to fit, it is those darn zero clearance models that are hard to equip with an insert. You really have to have the sizing done by a pro since they have to figure in the chimney liner and all the fire code blah-blah that goes with them, but the good news is their quotes are usually free.
The bad news is most of the good quality insert manufacturers (Jotul, napoleon, Avalon) are quoting delivery times of 4-6 months, so you may be out of luck for this winter.
If you have a problematic fireplace I would just suggest you plug it with a chimney balloon to keep the draft down for the winter, and light a few candles in the hearth for looks. Unfortunately, open wood fireplaces are heat wasters and wood toilets.
