Is there a way you can use an insert for a fireplace when you do not have a fireplace?
I have a dear friend who is not much money, so I had this question before asking it put in. wollteSie given a fireplace insert. He has a hole in the living room and it will cut it with “cement board and then frame triple stove pipe running from there ab.Ist possible to do this? He should do more than that for the Einsatz.Ich would hate to see it create a problem in trying to keep warm this winter.
a fireplace insert is made to do just that… be INSERTED into a FIREPLACE….. unless it’s a freestanding unit, (much like a pot-bellied stove) in which case it needs to be surrounded by brick or stone, including the floor and the walls around and behind it…..the pipe from it must be protected by insulation, from setting the wall or ceiling on fire with the first fire in it….. your friend needs to do much more research or get a REAL installer to come do the job…. his house is going to go up in flames and him with it if he doesn’t…..
