It is a common enough complaint, after someone has eaten a big meal, that they feel “bloated”. There are more reasons for bloating flatulence, however, than just eating your own body weight in rich food. Most women will be familiar with a bloated feeling that happens during their monthly menstrual cycle. Additionally, some of us just have disagreeable reactions to certain foods. If you ignore your body’s warning signs on a particular food, then it is more or less inevitable that you will suffer from bloating flatulence, as some sort of punishment.
Drinking a lot of carbonated beverages is known to be a pretty much immediate path to bloating flatulence. If you suffer from bloating flatulence the worst thing that you can do is add something effervescent to the turmoil taking place in your stomach. It will increase the amount of gas down there and any effect it may have on the acid balance of your stomach will be negligible as a result. There are other products which will coat the stomach, and these are better for curing bloating flatulence as they will bring down the acid levels without generating much gas.
Often the best solution is to stick within reason to a diet which does not contain the foods which are known to cause you problems. If you note that you have bloating flatulence as a result of eating a certain thing, then the simple solution is to ensure that you eat as little of it as you can bear to. That’s not to say that you have to give up on it altogether, but the less problem foods you eat, the less problem flatulence will affect you.
