Can you still receive a pell grant if youve been placed on academic probation?
I received half of my pell grant this fall semester of 09. But I really messed up my grades and might be placed on academic probation for spring 2010. If I am placed on academic probation, will I still receive the rest of my grant for the spring semester? Can you still receive a pell grant if youve been placed on academic probation?

I was placed on academic probation twice at two different schools. One was a private university and the other was a public community college. Neither time did it affect my financial aid package. So, speaking from personal experience, yes, you should still receive your pell grant. Just don’t let it happen two or more semesters in a row. They can temporarily dismiss you from your school.
Still, talk to the financial aid office at your school. They have definite answers for these types of questions. Don’t be ashamed to ask. They’re there to help, no matter how bad your grades might be.

Yes. I was on academic probation last quarter and still received all of my financial aid. Double check with your school to make sure, though.
