Katrina Insurance Claims Hearing: Mississippi AG Hood
Jim Hood, Attorney General for the State of Mississippi, gives opening remarks on the experience his state has had with insurance companies in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
I wish I could have seen more of these hearings. It was good to hear AG Hood stand up to argue for the policy-holders of MS. He makes such an important point when he talks about the flood pool, which uses tax dollars to pay people when their insurance companies do not. In 2005, the insurance industry made a record 44.8 BILLION dollar profit, while denying valid claims.
