Natural gas prices climb as Americans crank up air conditioners amid summer heat
Natural gas prices jumped Thursday as Americans cranked up air conditioners with hot weather gripping much of the country. Natural gas rose 28.4 cents, or 6.5 percent, to $4.591 per 1,000 cubic feet in midday trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
