Question : Scammed off craig’s list, any recourse?
Someone was offering to sale me a used copy of Adobe software for 400 dollars, the ad was on craig’s list. I asked him on the phone if it was a fully legal version, comes with license, everything they said yes. I know I was pretty naive and stupidly paid with paypal, but I trusted the guy because he gave me his business and cell numbers, and his name checks out with all online records, I have his address, even his yahoo ID’s.

I got the software in the mail and all it was was a cheap DVD case with a badly printed desktop printer label on it.

All I care about is getting all or at least some of my money back, does PayPal cover losses for such things done outside of an online auction? And since I know all the guys’ info I’ve read I could potentially get him audited by the BSA (Business Software’s Alliance) but really I just want my money, not go through any action like that unless it is absolutely necessary.
Oh yes I also know his website address, he runs a realty website in Florida.

UGH…been there done that. Unfortunately, I had to eat the cost. Unlike Ebay, Craigslist does not assume any responsibilty for fraud=( I love Craigslist, but it really is too bad that there are such dishonest people out there. I really do hope it all works out for you.

** Sorry–this may sound like an obvious question, but did you tell him you were dissatisfied and ask for your money back?

**Something you CAN do (though it might be of little consilation to you)…post about him on Craigslist. Warn people about his fraudulism. At bare minimum, you could ruin his shady business.
