Question : Retirement Planning – Where should my dad go for serious advice. He’s willing to pay.?
I’m trying to help my dad come up with a plan. He’s 63 years old, could probably retire now, and is weighing a lot of options but I don’t think (and he agrees) that he’s able to really weigh his options objectively. He needs to go somewhere and put all his chips on the table and seek serious help with advice. It has to be somewhere/someone with good references. Please help!

He has a free show on each day from 2-5 pm. He can listen online or the next day to archives. He also does live speaking events throughout the nation in addition to tons of literature available.

Look up financial advisors in the phone book. Call the ones that stick out to you. Ask if they are fee-only advisors. Make appointments with a few fee-only advisors that seem nice. After your initial consultations, choose the one that is best for you (your dad).
Fee-only is important because they are not trying to sell you things that get them better commission.
Good luck. Financial advisors are very important and everybody should have one.

Go to the Ric Edelman website at : http://www.ricedelman.com there you will find qualified planners that have HIS best interest in mind rather than trying to sell him something so they can profit! They can direct you to one near your dad.
Ric’s website has loads of things from taxes to retirement!
