If you file chapter 7 it is a discharge of what you owe. it is like paid off.
My bankruptcy went through last april.
Nancy…the laws changed on Oct 17, 2005, the credit card debt would be discharged if you include it in the bankruptcy filing. The credit card company will most likely close the account after being notified of the filing. Not much to your question, hope this answered it.
