My band is looking a buying a trailer to haul equipment to shows and such. We are looking at a 5×8 Enclosed trailer, problem is that none of us have ever owned one before so we don’t know what else we have to do to use it legally. Do we need registration, insurance, etc…?

Content insurance might be an idea
Typically, the liability coverage of the car towing the trailer will protect you for damage caused by the trailer if it strikes something. However, in order to cover any damage to the trailer, you’ll need to take out a separate policy for the trailer. In addition, you’ll need to take out an Inland Marine policy for any cargo you’ll be transporting.
