i want to protect my medical records and keep them confidential, so i don’t want to file for long term disability. is this with in my rights in california?

if they provide it then you have to, if it is SSI then you don’t
Yes, as long as you don’t mind being fired for not showing up for work, and you don’t mind not being paid.
If you want to keep your benefits and/or some income, in order to collect ltd payments, you have to let the medical records be seen. It’s the same way for SSDI, or private disability insurance. No records – no money. Your call.
