Paying contents insurance for rented property?
Question : Paying contents insurance for rented property?
I had to take out contents insurance as part of my agreement when I took on a rented property. I paid 5 months worth however, I missed the 6th month as I didnt re-new the policy because I moved out.
Now they want to take it from my deposit they have. Can they do this even though im not living there? The payment from me goes directly to the estage agent who pays it to the insurance company – it does not go directly to the insurance company from me.

Read the policy.
Most require cancellation in writing within 30 days or so.
