Question : Can you sue someone to get credit card debt out of your name, if they are the one that is responsible?
My husbands ex girlfriend paid for her college on a credit card in his name. It is an 18000 dollar debt. She is paying the minimum every month but we would like to get it out of his name and make her responsible. Is the possible?

I doubt it. Will she admit that it is hers? She would need to get a loan or credit in her name and pay the other card off.

He is responsible for the debt unless she took his card without his knowledge but he would have needed to file a police report when he found out. If they decided together to use the credit card for her education it is his debt, it is nice that she is paying anything, I wouldn’t rock the boat. She may not have the money to pay it off or the credit to borrow the money.

you can take them to court for the money but the judge will only execute the judgment on them for the amount.
they can not transfer the amount of debt to the person .
my family member did the same thing except the charges were not authorized by me. they still would not take it out of my name ;they would only tell me i will have to sue for the money
