Question : How can I turn my passion into a career………?
Question Details: I love teaching/speaking and talking about financial literacy. I DO NOT want to become a financial planner or a investment salesperson. Being financial literate involves more than just “investing”. I also studied finance in colleage and I volunteer on weekends teaching financial literacy courses.

I hope to write a book before the year is over as well as create other info products(CD’s, budgeting software,etc…….) I also want to become a paid speaker and speak at colleages and universities and provide telesiminars and workshops, coaching, etc………

Has anyone ever turned their passion into a career? If so what did you do and does my idea sound far fetched?

Hey the big thing is marketing yourself. I’m still working on my career (Grad school), but I can’t wait to put it into good use. Seems like you could even be some type of a consultant on financial literacy. You are good to volunteer. I think you need to tap into the “community”. If I were you I would look at local “Community Action Agencies” do a search and see if there is one near you. They often give seminars on those types of things and you could even do some work for them. No your idea does not seem far fetched. Start a blog on financial literacy and see what type of buzz that gets.
