Question : What happens when an online credit card payment is reversed?
My cell phone payment was made online by my husband using his credit card and after an argument he has called the cell phone company and the card company to have the payment reversed. He told them the payment was not authorized… I’m wondering what will happen to my cell phone. My bill was due today and if the payment is reversed will the phone be turned off and how long will the whole process take?

It depends on the type of contract you have as well as your carrier. If you have a “pay as you go”, your service could be terminated immediately. If you have a regular cell phone contract with monthly billing, you usually have a week or two grace period before service is terminated. You will also probably be assessed a late payment fee.
If you made the payment using his card, he can cancel it, but this is less likely to work if he oaid himself.
They are more likely to send you a letter requesting payment assuming the bill is not too high. I’d say you have a week at least before they switch you off.
