How Do Health Insurance Providers Verify Medical History?
Question : How Do Health Insurance Providers Verify Medical History?
I am moving to another state and must get new insurance.
I have visited a doctor in the last year for some prostate problems but paid cash for the visits with no filing on my insurance.
I do not want to inform the new company as this will probably be called preexisting.
Since I paid cash for the visits, will the new insurance company be able to find this information and if so, how do they do it.?
Thank You

M.I.B. They will also ask you to disclose any preexisting conditions. If you don’t and they later find out about it, they could deny all coverage or cancel.
Can they find out using the MIB? No. That is only utilized by insurance companies for insurance companies. And since you never filed a claim, then there was nothing to report to the MIB.
However, if something happens, they will find out. Your best bet would be to disclose the problems and take the pre-exisiting hit. The exclusion cannot last more than 18 months.
