Your best bet would be to ask Obama for a bailout.
since it has been a year, i am guessing that they repossess your car and then sold at auction for a $ 15K loss. they have a right to collect that.
but they cannot go after your house to collect. what they will do is most likely get a judgment and file a lien on the house. so when you sell the house, they will attach the $ 15K on any profit if any to them 1st before you see a dime.
they are hoping that you will either try and get a loan or have a family member bail you out. but most likely you probably cannot get a loan even for say $ 2K.
you can call a lawyer and get your legal rights. most may give you 1 free consult to see if you want to hire or not.
