I need four accounting credits for the IL CPA exam.?
Question : I need four accounting credits for the IL CPA exam.?
Does anyone know of a four credit audit course that can be taken online or through correspondence? I would like to avoid taking two courses. It has to be an approved course as well.

I am not aware of any online 4 hour audit classes. All that I have seen are 3 hour classes. But don’t be afraid to look outside the box.
Do you need a total of 4 hours (to include a class in audit)? If so, you can take the audit class at almost any college/university online and simply take another 1 hour course at a community college. Even community college courses (including audit) qualify in most jurisdictions. If you have met all of the other requirements even a physical education class would work for the hours.
I took my last six hours at a local community college because they were cheap, easy, and all qualified to make the 150 hour qualification. (I just passed my last section in November, Mo jurisdiction). Just a little food for thought…

My friend took a couple of four hour courses from an online university, but then his state board of accountancy said they would only count 3 hours for each of those classes (even though it said nothing of the sort in the state’s rules/bylaws – state’s rules just said that we need 150 hours to include certain classes – never said there’s a 3 hour cap on courses – what a croc!). So anyway, he was two hours short of the 150 hours needed to sit for exam b/c the state BOA wouldn’t count the 4th hour on those two classes he took. So instead of studying for the exam with me, he’s stuck taking another class
Be careful with the 4 hour courses – check with your board of accountancy first to make sure they will take all 4 hours of each course. And when I say check, I mean call and speak with someone personally – get a name so if they deny you later, you can fight back!
