its a gaming pc, and also where else could i get a good gaming pc for cheap, i can’t buy parts online so i can’t build one because i don’t have a credit card

Hi, that computer is so cool, as soon as u buy it I will steal it……..hahahahahahaha……….lol.
Getting serious……….u could buy those parts separately and build the computer with some friends at home and that may cost a lot less cause u mentioned u can’t buy on line.
Some more advice is that since that is a 64 bit machine regular Vista which is 32 bit won’t work on it so I suggest u buy Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit with SP1.
Sorry but I can’t help u find a cheap place to buy such a power machine other than look around in some computer shops in your area and find the best deals there. You could also try Alienware machines cause they r really powerful and great for gaming as well.

Let me break it down for you (prices according to newegg.com):
Intel Core2 Quad Q9300: $ 269.99
6GB PC2-5300 DDR2: approx $ 60 (if its corsair)
DVDRW/CDRW: approx $ 30
7200 rpm sata hdd: est. $ 150 (oem)
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT OC: approx $ 220
Vista Home Premium: $ 110 (system builders oem)Total: 839.99
Ok those are the main parts of your pc you want to look at. All that extra stuff you see on there is just fluff they put on there to make it look like you’re getting more for your money but the fact of the matter is that the entire last part like LAN and stuff is already built into almost all motherboards (unless its really old). The media reader is also fluff because I bought one of those at tiger direct for $ 20. Also you want to look at that case.. What is it made out of? How well can it keep those parts cool? How many fans does it have, and should you need to buy more? That graphics card does run hot.
The only good thing about that comp is the processor and the graphics card (and there are even faster ones than those).
When shopping for a computer the main thing you have to look at is the motherboard. You want to see what the board can handle in order to allowed upgradeable and mainstream stores such as best buy never tell you the motherboard much less the brands of the parts you are getting in your computer. Most of the time they have bargain basement parts inside that probably arent even worth the amount I quoted above.
I know you said you can’t buy the parts but I strongly suggest that you have a parent or friend buy them from newegg and you give them the money. If not then prepare to spend a couple hundred over what it’s actually worth if you go retail. After building my own pc I would never EVER buy a retail one. I spent $ 1600 building my computer which could have easily been priced at over $ 2100 had I bought it from the store. Alienware is also known for grossly overcharging for what you get.
The computer is not horrible though a bit overpriced. The processor and graphics card are good. But as a gamer you want to think of how you can improve this machine in the long run. Can you add more graphics cards? Whats the max speed and quantity of ram the motherboard can handle? How well does it overclock? These are things you would know if you knew the type of motherboard it had. Just food for thought. I hope you find what you are looking for
