Anyone else tired of the auto insurance commercials?
Question : Anyone else tired of the auto insurance commercials?
I know they have to advertise, but I am SO sick of EVERY insurance commercial out there constantly showing commercials claiming that everyone who ISNT insured with them is overpaying. I have military insurance, so I got full coverage (with GAP) on a 2007 Nissan Frontier for $ 26 a month…..beat that.
What is even worse is the ones that come on looking like its some sort of important public announcement or the safe auto one that CLAIMS that the cops have a way of looking at your car and KNOWING that you dont have insurance. What ever.
This is exactly why there should be a governed method of pricing insurance. So sick of this insurance war.
you cant compare insurance to fast food. A McDonanld’s burger and a Jack int the Box burger taste completely different. With insurance, your getting the EXACT same thing. And there are other ways of advertising other than finding new ways of saying your cheaper than everyone else. If I wasnt getting such a good deal on my insurance, I would go to state farm (even though they are expensive) JUST because their commercials arent all about them being cheaper.
And while I’m on the subject, why is insurance even manadtory, or even legal for that fact?
Think about it. Insurance is nothing more than gambling. You pay every month in case something happens to you car. To me, that is no different than buying lottery tickets every week in hopes of hitting the lottery. There are tons of people out there who are very careful drivers and pay insurance their whole life, never getting into a wreck or utilizing their insurance, wich is a way of the insurance companies hittiing the jackpot.
This is something that should be up to the individual, not made mandatory. Or at least made mandatory to anyone whose recklessness has caused a wreck or is charged with wreckless driving. If someone has the money to have their car fixed in the event of an accident, then why are they STILL forced to have insurance?

Yeah, but competition amongst themselves keeps them competitive with their pricing… so really, it’s to our advantage. I don’t care. I’ve been with the same insurance agent since I was two (my mom had this guy, then when I got a car, I used him… then an apartment… then a house…. blah blah blah). It’s about the service he gives, not about the money. Sure, I might find cheaper insurance with another company, but are they as good as he is? Definitely not. Geoff is the best insurance guy around AND he’s a good friend.
However, I do love the insurance ads with the cavemen. I laugh every time! They are just SO funny!
so should we stop seeing fast food comercials as well? should the gov’t regulate the cost of a hamburger? what about car manufacturer’s? should the gov’t regulate the cost of a car? what about {anything}, should the gov’t regulate the cost {anything} as well?
they have that in some countries, its called communism. and if you’d like that in the US, vote for Obama.
bottom line, they have to advertise. theyre not going to advertise that “well we will probably end up costing you a lil more than the other guy”. no that would be dumb. the only one i know of that says you will save over the others is Progressive. some others say ways you can save but they dont say youll save so much over another company, its usually insure your house and car and save on average $ XXX.xxor no accidents every 6months get a rebate.
turn the channel. hit mute. get a tivo.
