Is it worth it to get your CFP if you are already successful in your career?
Question : Is it worth it to get your CFP if you are already successful in your career?
Did you learn a lot?
Did it make you more valuable to your clients?
Did it increase the amount you earn?
I do alot of reading in the field and think I’m pretty good but wonder if having the formal cohesive certification would tie everything together.
I’m not sure if it’s worth the time and money.
I’m most concerned becoming better at my job than earning more.

Clients see value in it so you should too.
It will generally bring you more business since people like to work with those that have the most qulaifications and experience.
The certification will cost around 5-8K depending on your educational background. I believe it is useful only for people who are trying to get some credentials in personal finance. If you have a university degree in business/finance already and have enough confidence in your skills, it would certainly be a waste of time and money.
A friend of mine got his “dream job” 6 months after finishing this certification. So it all depends on who you are, what you do, what your current income is etc.
