check. its a set amount, credit cards you can always have more taken out while you sign away the certain amount of money on a check.
cash is the least risky, but it all depends how much money your spending.
goodluck!
Being a retired fraud detective and current author of a book on fraudulent crimes, I would say you run a risk either way you go. If someone compromises your credit card account, you will have to file fraud affidavits with that particular financial institution. If someone compromises your checking account, you will be completing fraud affidavits with your financial institution as well as other businesses where the suspect(s) cashed the counterfeit checks. Once a compromised checking account is discovered by the victim, the victim notifies their banking institution and the institution usually closes the account. If the perpetrator(s) have written additional counterfeit checks, those checks will be returned to the businesses and the business, their check company, or collection agent will contact the victim.
It is important to remember that you can be victimized regardless of what payment method you use. I would recommend that you request the charges, in advance, and then use a money order or cashier’s check.
