The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is offering a free vehicle safety class Thursday for riders of all-terrain and other off-road vehicles. The five-hour class, 4-9 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office, 43565 Elizabeth Road, Mt. Clemens, will be taught by Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment-certified instructors.

WASHINGTON Mortgage rates inch down again Mortgage rates have sunk to the lowest level in more than five decades, but consumers aren’t rushing to refinance their loans or buy homes. Mortgage company Freddie Mac said Thursday the average rate for 30-year fixed loans sank to 4.58 percent this week.
