Energy Project Endangered> National Bird
New York Regional Interconnect

Inc. (NYRI) is planning 200 miles of 400 kV DC cable 1200 megawatts in the city of Marcy, NY near Utica, install, around the town of New Windsor to food in Orange County in New York and Long Island.

73 miles of this line would be built on the railway side of Pennsylvania, the Delaware River from Hancock to Port Jervis, NY. This river section is the principle focus of the American bald eagle.

It is recognized that this waterway is the cheapest way is to construct the proposed transmission line, but certainly not the only way. NYRI has considered other options, including the power lines along existing road rights of way. This would obviously be an appropriate alternative. It would not disturb the natural habitat of the bald eagle, nor mar the beauty of the Upper Delaware Scenic River corridor and recreational facilities.
The Upper Delaware Preservation Coalition

(UDPC) finished lawyer Richard J. Lippes, in the hope or Redirection launch this project. It is the country’s counsel for the plaintiffs acknowledged success in a high profile and the historic environment and conservation cases such as Love Canal and Three Mile Iceland.

NYRI Power Line Project would flow into a construction area of the corridor more than two years. The sound of dynamite, diesel cranes, and the general commotion would displace wildlife such as eagles, perhaps forever. No community will be spared, and the economic damage would be felt for years. The simple beauty of pristine rivers disappear, and so were the fishermen, summer tourists and the American eagle.

Although some eagles, it would probably beat sink or sitting on power lines finish. There is also a known fact that the approach of electrified lines – especially high-voltage lines – is dangerous and potentially deadly.

NYRI is a private enterprise and private funding for-profit companies. NYRI, which has a lot of money behind them, represented by the law firm of New York’s powerful former mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Although the NYRI project

keeps an office in Albany, NY, a Canadian entrepreneur named Richard Muddiman is the president. NYRI investors in the anonymity of a billion dollars of venture capital. One wonders if these investors are a U.S. citizen. Should we ask the question why international business people rich at the expense of our national bird to be? Why would we?

The project was initially proposed by a company called Pegasus in 2003. NYRI acquired the rights of these utilities run along the rail line of Norfolk and South. Pegasus, who, interestingly, the Canadian-led Richard A. Muddiman. I think his nickname is RAM!

power lines would be installed on towers 130 meters high and at a distance of 800 feet for 200 miles. It would transform two of the most beautiful rivers in the U. S, the Lackawaxen and Delaware, in an industrial line.

NYRI Power Line Project would have a devastating impact on not only the beautiful landscapes of this region, but to the entire population of eagles. Eagles are not very tolerant of human activity. Human presence can stress these birds, especially young birds nesting and may affect their feeding and sleeping patterns. Eagle observers are asked to be very careful when observing these majestic animals. Binoculars are used at a safe distance. On an interesting note, a general store in picturesque Rowland, Pa. a telescope placed before a window overlooking the Lackawaxen River. Customers can take an active role Where Eagles Nest livestock.

This beautiful region is by several acts of Congress, including the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA protected), the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) and the nature and scenic rivers Act be amended in the upper Protecting Delaware River in 1978. The construction project is in direct violation of these acts of Congress, but NYRI wants to go make arrangements with their money. They say they represent the powerful lobbyists in Washington. It seems that nothing can break pirates take advantage of our national laws that are supposed to protect the environment to stop.

is interesting to note that the application for designation under Bill NYRI Bush’s new energy measure is the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Department of Interior National Park against each other.

UDPC addition, have attracted many other opposition forces in an attempt to destroy those of the upper Delaware River, Lackawaxen block. In addition to support from residents and businesses throughout the region, there are also impressive environmental support and policy: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (Pres., The Water Keeper Alliance), NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), New York Senators James L. Seward and Raymond A. Meier, the U.S. House of Representatives Don Sherwood of Pa Pa Representatives Maurice Hinchey and Jerry Birmelin, the National Park Service, Sierra Club, American Canoe Association, Environmental Advocates of NY and many others.
Surprisingly

, May 16, AIDS in the Washington offices of Senators Arlen Specter and Rick Santorum said that their knowledge or the senator had taken a stand in the exhibition.

The American bald eagle is one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. It should be our responsibility to ensure the safety of their habitats and to preserve areas where it feeds and reproduces. The eagle is the symbol of our freedom, like many Americans. We must ensure that future generations can see how they rise into the sky.

The bald eagle, which had virtually disappeared twenty-five, made a triumphant return. If we let this tragedy happen again? Threat to the security of the habitat of the bald eagle is essential for burning our national flag. It is unpatriotic and unforgivable! The project should be stopped and arrested both. If NYRI gets approval to the state level, there is little chance of stopping them once they reach Washington.
