What happens when you overdraw your checking account and the accocunt is closed by the bank for inactivity?
5Question : What happens when you overdraw your checking account and the accocunt is closed by the bank for inactivity?
This is my first time opening a checking account. My question is what would happen if my account were to have been overdrawn and remained so for many months, and finally the bank decided to close the account because it was inactive? Does the bank still try and send for their money or does the charges just go away? Will it effect me opening another account with a different financial institution?

You will not be able to get credit or a new account. Everything goes on your credit report and no bank will want you.
What happens if someone who has been abused their whole life never gets help?
5Question : What happens if someone who has been abused their whole life never gets help?
What happens if someone has been abused (sexually, physically and emotionally) by many different people their whole life but never gets help? This person has already cut out all the people who have ever abused them out of their life completely but has never got any help (like see a therapist for example)
Is there something this person should do to get help or is it not really necessary?
Would this person benefit much from therapy?
And do you think cognitive behavioral therapy would help at all?
Sorry, one more question – what would happen, psychologically, if this person never seeks help?

What happens to the dividend option term rider on a whole life insurance policy?
1Question : What happens to the dividend option term rider on a whole life insurance policy?
If the cost of insurance on the dividend option term rider is higher then the monthly premium being paid. What happens to the term insurance portion of the whole life policy at that time? I have this rider now on my whole life policy to maximize my death benefit at the lowest cost but I’m thinking that either I will have to pay more premium if the cost goes up or I have to drop the rider.

The purpose of a dividend option is to purchase paid up additions or term insurance for a specified amount of time (5 years, 7 years, ect.). It sounds that you are doing the latter and are using your dividends to repurchase term insurance at your attained age. This would cause an increase in the premium cost. You might consider paid up additions. The amount of insurance would be less, but you would avoid the higher cost you mentioned.
What happens when an online credit card payment is reversed?
1Question : What happens when an online credit card payment is reversed?
My cell phone payment was made online by my husband using his credit card and after an argument he has called the cell phone company and the card company to have the payment reversed. He told them the payment was not authorized… I’m wondering what will happen to my cell phone. My bill was due today and if the payment is reversed will the phone be turned off and how long will the whole process take?

It depends on the type of contract you have as well as your carrier. If you have a “pay as you go”, your service could be terminated immediately. If you have a regular cell phone contract with monthly billing, you usually have a week or two grace period before service is terminated. You will also probably be assessed a late payment fee.
What happens to a 401k plan if the person passes away before retirement?
6Question : What happens to a 401k plan if the person passes away before retirement?
My mother passed away 4 years ago, and I just remembered that she had a 401k plan because it was listed on her paycheck statement (I’m assuming she had the plan, why else would it be on there with an amount next to it right?). Well what happens to that saved up money? Does the company keep it or they just let it float around? I only ask because if anything it’s still my mothers money and technically would belong to her family…so how would one go about claiming it?

Check with the company. At my company you have to list a beneficiary on your 401K plan.
Student Loans – what happens when they are sold to another company?
2Question : Student Loans – what happens when they are sold to another company?
I’m looking for a consolidation loan. There are so many companies out there. I heard that some of the companies with great promotional interest rate discounts (e.g. for on-time payments, enroling in auto debit etc.) turn around and sell your loan to another company. When this happens, do the terms have to remain the same as the original consolidated loan (ie interest rate, payment schedule etc.)? I’m hearing mixed things about this. I contacted the Federal Student Loan information center and was told conflicting things as well.

When your student loan is sold, it can result in a change of servicers. (Student loans are most often sold to a secondary market when they enter repayment. They can also be sold to another bank at any time due to bank mergers or banks choosing to liquidate their student loan portfolios.) Although the original terms of your loans will not change, the address to which you send payments and the date on which payments are due may change. It is therefore important to read all the correspondence you receive carefully. It is also important to ensure that the servicer has your current address and contact information. Students who ignore their mail and phone calls are more likely to be delinquent on a payment and to default on their loans.
What happens if you purchase an internet-based product (download) then cancel your debit card?
1Question : What happens if you purchase an internet-based product (download) then cancel your debit card?
It’s been my experience that I must wait for about 3 days before the payment is processed. Plainly out of curiosity, I do not intend to do this, but what would happen if someone bought software online and received the serial code for it, then closed their bank account and moved to a different bank?

Hi, Its good question and nice to know about your curiosity! Well, in this case whatever the transaction you have made before cancellation, will be freeze and then you can cancel the same. Whenever you go for cancellation you will be verified with your last few transactions you have made, then it will be processed. Bank officials will make a note of your concerns and then give you confirmation of your cancellation of the debit card.
