I work for my dad that handles claims on all heavy equipment, 18 wheelers and he hired me after hurricane Katrina to help him in his office. I was a social worker before the storm so I have been thrown into this kind of work. Although my dad is an excellent teacher and mentor, I still need some kind of formal education in this line of work and I have not been able to find any schools, conventions or classes that teach CARGO which is my main job. I have read heavy equipment claims magazines, looked online and even called our clients to see if they knew of any and had no luck. Someone please help!!! I love this job and I want to be the best at what I do. I am getting on the job training but my dad will retire in the next few years and i don’t want him to take his knowledge with him.

I’m trying to get back into school this spring, I might get this job working at this daycare but I have to take the classes to become certified. If I’m working full-time I want to just take the classes online. What are some really good online schools for Early Childhood Education, or should I just try and take them online at my local community college? Also are their any online schools that offer Medical Assisting that people have taken and were able to find a good job afterward? Thanks!

If you have the option, I would certainly go with the local community college.
Firstly, it is almost certainly going to be cheaper. Community colleges receive funding from the government (city, county, state, and/or federal depending on the school) and don’t have to charge as much for tuition typically. They also exist for the public good, not so that the school’s owner/owners/stockholders can make money. Instead, you have to get your degree through the online school, which will likely be more expensive. Many employers will not accept degrees from online schools, unless they are through a real, regionally accredited college or university (ie., University of Maryland, Tennessee Board of Regents, etc.).
The last thing you want to do is spend thousands of dollars and years of your life in school only to find that you can’t get a job.
