Question : I need a way to document all the updates on a server? Each and every update installed must be documented with the KB #’s and all information where applicable. I have tried many things shy of a script. (I don’t want to have to use a script), I have tried Belarc and a couple of other freeware, but for some reason it picks and chooses which updates to audit. There should be an exhaustive list with ALL of my updates. Answer by frazdavCheck out Tripwire technology for this. It has been around for years, and does a great job. There is a commercial version (www.tripwire.com), and there is probably still a free version of it available, too. Hope this helps.
