How much money do I need to be willing to invest in the options trading?

I’m a conservative, diversified portfolio of equity positions very long. I want to experiment with some options trading. I fully understand the risks involved, but I wonder if it is based a rule of thumb in terms of how much of options on the value of a portfolio or when to invest based strictly how much you are willing to lose.

Where can I get historical intraday stock quotes? I am willing to pay for such a collection. ?

I know this is a tall order, but I want the intraday historical stock market data. Ideally I would like to get quotes for the whole exchange, going back as many years as possible. I would like the sampling to be at 1 minute intervals, though lower would be better. ANY information would be helpful thanks.
